Practical Fruit Tree Pruning- Apples & Pears

April 27, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

$60

Learn how to prune fruit trees for abundant crops on healthy, long-living trees in this practical workshop.

Late fall and winter are the best times to prune apples and pears. This workshop will start with an introduction to pruning as it applies to all fruit trees, then apples and pears in specific. This will be followed by a demonstration and then it’s your turn to start pruning with Gisella’s guidance. You’ll then be able to go home and confidently get started on your own apple and pear trees.

Your tutor is Gisella Warmenhoven, a trained landscaper and professional tree pruner for over 30 years.

“Gisella’s one day workshop is one of the best ways to be introduced to fruit tree pruning. She is an excellent presenter and a patient teacher. ”

What to bring: sharpened secateurs, loppers, a saw and stepladder if you have them. Gloves, writing materials, snacks and drinking water. Dress for all weathers.

Cost: $60 per person per workshop.  The maximum number is 12 to assure quality tutor attention.  In case of wet weather, we’ll contact you on 25 April and reschedule for Sunday, 28 April.

Location: Whakamarama,Tauranga. We’ll send you directions and further details upon registration.
