Bay of Plenty Permaculture
Transforming School Grounds into
Productive Learning Environments
Learn to work with children to integrate gardening into the school curriculum and
help them design nourishing outdoor environments.
2-DAY WORKSHOP COVERS:
• Introduction to Permaculture principles & design process
• Facilitating fun, hands-on permaculture design with children
• Integrating gardening into the school curriculum
• Using Earthcare’s Interactive Teaching Toolkit
The first 1.5 days will cover theory in a relaxed, interactive classroom setting in Whakamarama. During the afternoon of day 2, we will put into practice what we have been learning by facilitating these methods with students at a local school. Participants can attend one or both days, although attending both days is highly recommended. Handouts will be provided, and a certificate of completion awarded. Participation numbers are limited to generate an optimal educational experience. See the poster.
