Simple Soil Test
March 16, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
FreeIf you are wanting to grow veggies or fruit and nut trees, knowing about you soil is critical to your success. There are lots of things you can find out about your soil without sending samples off to a lab. During this mini workshop, your tutor Kazel Cass will show you how to find out your soil type and texture. Bring a soil sample from home ( or more than one if your soils appear different) and you’ll find out if you have clay, sandy-loam or something else. You’ll also find out what that means for your veggies and trees and what you might want to do make your them happier.
Immediately following this workshop from 11:-12:15, is one on BOP bug identification, “What is that Bug?!” You are welcome to attend both. Koha requested.
And then at 1:30, permaculture tutor Catherine Dunton-McLeod will show you How to Design a Successful Forest Garden for the BOP conditions. Bring your lunch and stay for all three!
